(Part 1 February 27 - March 2) (Part 2 May 14 - 16) Below she shares how she came to the practice of Yoga Nidra and why she think's it is so beneficial for the modern yogi. I was first introduced to yoga nidra in Mumbai, India in my teens. I was a competitive athlete at the time and didn’t know how to stop and rest. Then I took my first Yoga nidra class and it took me to a place of deep inner stillness and peace that I had never experienced. Expanding what is possible in the private practice by Cassandra Ferland

Cassandra will be launching her new 15 hour training, The Art and Science of Working with Private Clients at ISHTA on April 21 + 22. Early Bird Pricing is available through April 11th. Below Cassandra discusses her journey to building a thriving roster of privates as well as the nuances of teaching private yoga that there might not be time to cover in 500 hour teacher training.      When people think of yoga what often comes to mind is breathing and stretching in a large group class. This makes sense because the majority of people now practice yoga in this way. It is, therefore, surprising for most that yoga was traditionally taught one on one, teacher to student, with each session created specifically for that student. Since the evolution of every...

Cheerleading for Meditation by Peter Ferko

Yogiraj Peter Ferko will co-lead the upcoming ISHTA Meditation Training with Alan and Sarah Finger. (Dec. 15 - 17) I was speaking to a student in a private yesterday, and she told me that her whole view on life was so different since she’d been practicing meditation and mantra and processing things with me over the past year. She said, everything is so open and of the moment, but there is no way to say it — it sounds hokey when I try.  And yet, we need to do what Alan Finger calls “cheerleading” sometimes, to encourage people to try the simple, yet profound, techniques of meditation. And that requires words, whether they sound hokey or not. So here are some words about why studying meditation is...

Claire Kinsella Holtje writes about Financial Yoga

The Autumn leaves are one of the most gorgeous gifts of nature! For those of us on the east coast we are experiencing a late fall, the leaves are taking their time. But sure as night follows day, nature is plugged into a Higher Intelligence, a Flow that supports this natural order a progressing that leads to evolution and change. So as in nature, flow and healing happens when we realize and practice the soulfull art of surrendering to this circulating energy. As we practice directing the flow of energy within us through choice, breathwork, meditation and clear/purposeful intention, we cultivate our capacity for clearing pathways within us. This flow supports us in making deliberate decisions in our day to day lives. Conscious choices correlate to clear rewards. Clearly circulating...
