Yoga is a wealth of infinite knowledge and Brianna threads many moods, methods and modalities into her guidance to the practice. Her classes move with vinyasa cadence, Iyengar alignment and ashtanga structure in that her sequencing is relatively consistent in every class. Her goal is for students to build familiarity and comfort with yoga asana and build a personal practice instead of one that is dependent on the step-by-step instruction of a teacher. By establishing 'muscle memory' of the sequence, with time her students depend less and less on postural guidance and are encouraged to move on to details like breath and bandhas, and eventually the ego calms; achieving a state of seamless fluidity. Although she is not Iyengar 'certified' many of her alignment points are derived from his knowledge of the body. Brianna considers Jnana yoga (yoga of knowledge) to be an integral element to achieving union, therefore each class is interwoven with a focus/intention with subjects varying from The Yoga Sutras to The Energy of Sound. As as a student, she is grateful for the priceless and continuous unfolding of truth that yoga has provided her . As a teacher, her classes are challenging, informative, contemplative and humbling. Yoga is precious gem; in the state of it's growing popularity, Brianna's foundation is rooted in the necessary preservation of the teachings gracefully passed through the ages.
