CATHY LILLY

Cathy teaches to share gratitude and help others discover the healing aspects of yoga. This was not apparent when taking her first yoga class in 1976 as it appeared so easy due to her acrobatics background. Fifteen years later though, medical practitioners and friends insisted she get into yoga to treat physical injuries and unresolved grief. With recovery and a renewed spirit that followed, she eagerly explored many styles of asana, pranayama, and meditation and heard encouragement to teach. Because of her B.S. degree in medical sciences Cathy recognized ISHTA yoga integrates ancient Indian wisdom with today's modern science. Thanks to Al, Beverley, Kara, Ann, and Jean for their thoughtful teacher training guidance. Cathy continues to study with those of the Krishnamarcharya lineage - Leslie Kaminoff (author Yoga Anatomy) and Mark Whitwell (author Yoga of the Heart). She also has yoga therapy certification to teach yoga to those with cardiac, cancer and other life threatening diseases. With Nischala Joy Devi (author Healing Path of Yoga and Secret Power of Yoga). In her classes Cathy encourages students to use yoga as the gateway to let go of the busy mind and allow the sense of freedom that is our birthright flow in.
