Time out NYC
Recently Opened: ISHTA Yoga
'According to Ancient Indian yogis, our natural state isn't
sleepwalking through the day in a caffeinated haze, but in the tantric
place of liberation and bliss. Who knew?! The teachers at ISHTA,
which stands for Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda,
conduct meditation classes that aim to tap into your brain to make you
feel as though you've spent double the time in dreamland. Watchful
teachers tailor their instructions around each individual's emotional
state and anatomy, and there's a resident guru on site to guide you
through your transformation.
56 E 11th [...] Daily 7:30am-8:45pm, $20 for a group class.'

Ishta Yoga=Finding Calm
What Is it?
A combo of Hatha Yoga (movement) and Tantra (energizing or relaxing meditation is tailored to your temperament to help you feel balanced).
What We Loved
Our beginner class was similar to regular yoga, yet we felt refreshingly more focused; we didn't run through our to do list or leave feeling exhausted.
