SISSY ST JOHN

Sissy St.John found her love of yoga 15 years ago while attending an intensive 6 week course entitled; \"Strong, Stretched, and Centered\", in beautiful Maui. Very inspired and eager to learn more, she shortly there after became certified with ACE (The American Council of Exercise) with a specialty recognition in nutrition, creating wholistic programs comprised of diet/ exercise/ breathing/ and relaxation for private clients, suited specifically to each individuals needs.

In addition to her ACE certification, she became certified in John Friend\'s Anusara-style yoga \" flowing with grace\". This gave her the knowledge that yoga was a practice that flows from the heart, the \"seat of the soul\", more than pyhsical flexibility or pretzel like entanglements! Still curious and seeking more intensive courses, she discovered Yoga Works, where she trained with the original founders, instructors Maty Ezraty and Chuck Miller in Los Angeles (and a little later, in New York, with Yogiraj, Alan Finger). She now holds a certification with Yoga Works as well as Yoga Alliance 500hr.

Sissy\'s vinyasa flow classes, focus on being present in the moment, opening the heart, and emphasizing the healing power of the breath, while strengthening the resilience of body, clearing the mind, soothing the nervous system, and liberating the spirit to shine from inside out.

Yoga is a spiritual practice of self realization, moving out of the congestion and delusions of the mind, and into the peacefulness and openness of the heart, aligning with our soul / spirit , and enabling us to transform our consciousness from ignorance to enlightenment. From suffering to Samadhi. We are all divine, illuminated beings at our core, we have only to remove all the unnecessary layers that build up as we move through this life, and choose to embrace, and accept each moment as a precious gift. And most importantly, to love and to be loved, knowing that love is the greatest healer of all.

\"When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.\"
