Anandamama Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training
Gina Menza and Jennifer Langbehn
Anandamama Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training is a unique, 85-hour Yoga Alliance registered course designed to prepare yoga teachers with the comprehensive knowledge, skill, and confidence to lead safe and effective pre and postnatal yoga classes. Our trainers bring an additional wealth of experience with backgrounds in childbirth education, labor doula support, and motherhood. Anandamama-trained instructors leave training with an understanding of the principles of physiology in pregnancy, how they relate to the pregnant student’s yoga practice, and how to safely craft their classes to maximize the therapeutic benefits for every student in the room.
The Anandamama objective is to enable women, through the power of information, to find their voice and to trust their bodies and their instincts. Support and confidence integrated in the mind and body with yoga, prepares students for pregnancy, labor, and motherhood. It’s an art and a science!
Marma points are energetic centers that act as “little brains” that feed the organs, nerves and cells of your body with the intelligence they need to function efficiently. Stress, whether physical, emotional/mental or environmental in origin, can cause marmas to become strangled in the soft tissues of the body. ISHTA Marma Therapy frees the strangled marmas, releasing blocked energy, cleansing away stress and returning the individual to homeostasis. Learn to heal yourself using this profound technique, developed by Yogiraj Alan Finger, South African Tantric and Kriya Yoga Master.
Anatomy & Therapeutics
We will immerse ourselves in a gross (meaning large not yucky) anatomical lecture. Using real bone specimens and hands on “body testing” we will impart concrete ways to help assess the differences in our own (and our students) skeletal anatomy. We will look at common injuries and ways to work with all students in a meaningful and safe way. And what makes this training so unique is that each day will also include the poetic energetic correlation to each structure and a full and fulfilling asana and meditation class that weaves it all together.
