Balancing Muladhara Chakra
One Day Retreat at Bibra Lake with Mona and Tamara
Sunday, Jul 22 | 9.00am – 3.30pm
Register

A day of asana, restorative yoga, and yoga nidra designed to help you ground and centre, bringing what lies in your roots up into consciousness, co-taught by Mona and Tamara.

The seven energetic centres, or chakras, that run along the spine govern different segments of the body and different behaviour. Muladhara Chakra governs our survival and the way we manage our daily lives – our family, occupation, money, etc. When balanced we are grounded, relaxed and able to manage the demands of daily life. When imbalanced this chakra can be tamasic (under active) which manifests as being fearful, anxious, lacking in focus and disconnected from the body or rajasic (over active) manifesting as feeling lethargic, depressed and unable to bring about change.

This day retreat includes asana, pranayama, restorative poses, visualisation and yoga nidra, all designed to ground, center and relax you. A luxurious forty minute yoga nidra practice called “The Tree of Life” helps release memories stored in your subconscious and unconscious and in the DNA carried through generations so you can feel balanced and free.

Fee: $250

Releasing Blocked Feelings – Svadhistana Chakra
Thursday Jul 26:
Register

These workshops focus on balancing svadhishtana chakra, the energy centre that governs sensation, feeling and pleasure in our lives. Svadhishtana chakra governs our relationship with the duality of life that exists on this plane; our likes and dislikes, pleasure and pain, desire and repulsion. It is also where we store our memories and past experiences that lie in our subconscious and unconscious and distort our reality.

When this energy centre is balanced we’re in touch with our feelings, comfortable with intimacy and are able to open to the duality of life. When this energy center is tamasic (under active) our senses are dulled and we lose our ability to feel and enjoy life. When this energy centre is rajasic (over active) we are addicted to pleasure and ruled by our feelings.

The morning session will be a combination of asana, restorative and yoga nidra all designed to balance svadhishtana chakra. These workshops focus on balancing Manipura Chakra, our power center. This chakra governs our energy levels, willpower and our sense of self. Practicing Compassion and Self-Love

Anahata chakra in the heart is the energy center that governs relationships in our lives; our relationship with ourselves and with others.

When this energy center is tamasic (under active) we can be judgmental, intolerant, struggle to forgive and suffer from depression. When this energy center is rajasic (over active) we can be clingy, jealous and demanding of others. When balanced we have healthy relationships and are both compassionate and self-loving. Learn how to balance this chakra in this workshop.

Balancing the Koshas with Mona Anand
Yoga Village in Sydney
Sunday Jul 29 | 11.00 am – 2.00 pm

Join Mona Anand for an ISHTA Yoga Masterclass designed to release inner tension and connect us back to our essence which is peace and joy

We are made up of five vibratory fields (koshas) that surround our spirit (atman) When there is tension in any one of these fields, it effects the others and we lose our connection to spirit, to our natural state of being which is peace and joy. In this workshop we will focus on releasing tension in all five sheaths using asana, pranayama, kriya techniques restorative postures, visualization and yoga nidra.

The workshop will begin with an asana practice designed to release tension from all five sheaths. Participants will then recline on bolsters to the sound of soothing music, the aroma of essential oils and gentle hands on adjustments. The asana and restorative practice will be accompanied by pranayama, visualizations and kriya techniques to help release tension from all five vibratory fields.

The practice will end with a thirty to forty minute long yoga nidra, designed to systematically release contraction from each of these vibratory fields starting with the physical body, then the breath body, the mind body, the wisdom body so we can rest back into the bliss body. When we are connected to our essence the light of spirt shines through directing and giving meaning to our lives.

The practice will be followed by a Q&A where Mona will briefly discuss the koshas and how we can integrate an awareness of the koshas into asana, restorative and yoga nidra.
