In the ancient sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda, transformation is an integral part of the cycle of life that requires both destruction and rebirth. The more we are able to release, the more space we have to receive. In this time of profound change, we are all learning the art of letting go. Whether it is your daily routine, your local coffee shop, or the definition of “normal,” we are all having to create a new reality for ourselves.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, the transition from winter to spring is symbolic of our own alchemical shift from the earth to fire, or kapha to pitta. As we transition seasons, we are also “shedding” all of the excesses we take on: energetically, physically, and emotionally. Through the process of detoxification, a more luminous, radiant, and revitalized self is revealed. In this class, Sarah Platt-Finger will lead you through a sequence of sat kriyas (purification techniques), bandhas (locks of energy) and asana (physical postures) to help detoxify the physical and subtle body, while the soul-enhancing sounds of Aya and Tyler facilitate this shift on all levels. Together we will ignite the inner fire of transformation to shed what is not servicing us, and awaken to a new way of experiencing ourselves and the world around us.
