Ayurveda is one of the three legs of ISHTA Yoga. Considered Yoga’s inseparable twin, Ayurvedic philosophy is medicine for the body. while Yoga’s eight limbed practice serves mental well being. Ayurveda’s five sense therapies purify consciousness through the five sensory gates to calm the nervous system, balance the doshas and nourish the elements governing the sense organs. Left unattended the threshold of our sensory gates, ears, skin, eyes tongue and nostrils absorb energy, trigger vritti and disturb the mind. Ayurvedic self-care is personalized medicine everyone can use to promote vitality and longevity, and prevent illness by balancing the doshas. Called Dinacharya, individuals can apply sensory therapies to balance their vrikriti and prevent, treat or reverse illness.
