Yin Yoga & Aromatherapy Workshop with Sissy St. John
Join yoga teacher and Aromatherapist Sissy St. John for an afternoon treat of Yin Yoga and Aromatherapy! Yin Yoga is a very grounding practice consisting of slow, long-held (3-5 min), supine or seated postures that target the deep connective tissue of the body in order to increase circulation in the joints, improving flexibility and range of motion. Through longer holds muscles are able to completely relax and loosen their grip from the bones, the connective tissue, joints and internal organs are compressed and deeply nourished, similar to an acupressure massage or acupuncture session. This extremely calming practice creates space both physically and mentally, the mind is able to quiet and move inward paving the way for meditation to occur.
Aromatherapy and breath work will be incorporated into this practice to guide you inwards towards a meditative experience. Four main essential oils will be highlighted and talked about. We will explore the effects on how these beautiful gems of nature can enhance feelings of well-being and melt stress away soothing the body, mind and heart. This workshop is a gift for tight muscles and an overworked mind. Come to relax, stretch, and learn how to incorporate the healing benefits of Aromatherapy into your life and onto your mat!
