Lindsay Sanwald
Lindsay discovered yoga 13 years ago while living abroad in Italy and Argentina, where she volunteered on an organic farm/retreat center, and taught Comparative Literature as a Fulbright Scholar. She’s been practicing, studying, training (500 RYT) and working at ISHTA since early 2009. Lindsay’s been a friendly mainstay at the ISHTA front desk over the last several years, has helped coordinate retreats to Panama, Italy and Mexico, and she now teaches the high-energy After Hours Vinyasa class every Tuesday from 9-10pm. She loves philosophy, metaphysics, meditation, and music, and works full-time as an artist/producer/performer under the alias Idgy Dean, producing records, music videos, and live performances across the country and abroad. Together with Yogiraj Peter Ferko, she regularly hosts Psych Rock Kirtans at ISHTA, where her love of Rock N Roll, Yoga and Community all come together. She’s an unapologetic Pitta and Libra, very proud of her commitment to sobriety, a path of recovery she found rooted in her yoga practice.
“Creative nature is not moved into action by any incidental cause, but by the removal of obstacles, as in the case of a farmer clearing his field of stones for irrigation.” (Yoga Sutra 4.3)
