Bio: Mona Anand is a co-owner of ISHTA Yoga and a Yogiraj or yoga master in the ISHTA lineage. She is a Senior Trainer in ISHTA’s 500 Hour Teacher Training and has also designed two yoga nidra trainings, “Mona Anand’s ISHTA Yoga Nidra,” and “Yoga Nidra and The Chakras” She has released four yoga nidra CD’s for different purposes that included deep relaxation or sleep, to lift your spirits, to ground and center and to balance the muladhara chakra. They are available on iTunes and numerous online yoga sites and sold at ISHTA Yoga. Mona also co-leads a restorative trainings, “Anand Menza Restorative,” taught around the world. For over a decade she has been teaching her signature Restorative/Yoga Nidra Chakra Workshop series and Ayurveda series. Mona grew up in Mumbai, India where she was first introduced to yoga. She has a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University and currently lives in nyc with her husband and two daughters.

Bio: After over twenty-five years practicing and teaching yoga, Gina Menza has learned the importance of balancing the active side of one’s yoga practice and the quiet solitude of a restorative yoga sequence. She has learned to balance the frenetic and exquisitely fun energy of raising three kids in New York City with the refueling and relaxing rest necessary to survive. In addition to ISHTA, Gina has taught in innumerable places; from classrooms in Los Angeles California, sidewalks in Times Square New York City, studios in Stockholm Sweden, Skype screens in Helsinki, London studios to beachside in Goa, southern India. Gina has also designed the prenatal material used in both the 200 and 300-hour ISHTA trainings as well as co- creating her own school, Anandamama Prenatal Yoga which holds annual, 85-hour, Yoga Alliance trainings in NYC.

Taking the Restorative Training with Mona and Gina was such a wonderful choice for me! I had always benefited deeply from taking restorative classes, but the training allowed me to explore the practice so much more profoundly …learning about the physical and energetic value of restorative yoga, how to apply the appropriate sequencing, as well as using props, essential oils, and Yoga Nidra in my classes. I would absolutely recommend this training to anyone wishing to teach, or even simply establishing a home practice for themselves and loved ones. Mona and Gina are two amazing, incredibly knowledgeable, and utterly delightful teachers. I have the privilege of teaching restorative classes today because of them!

– Donna Filius, ISHTA Senior Teacher

Restorative Yoga is a phenomenal practice for relaxation and restoration, and so needed in today’s world. You are in amazing hands letting Mona Anand and Gina Menza guide you into the wonders of this practice. You will not only get the ‘how´s’ and the ‘why´s’ for the physical body but also go deeper into the energetics and the mental and emotional aspects of restorative. If you decide to dive into learning more about this healing modality, the Anand Menza Restorative Training will both make you comfortable teaching Restorative Yoga and at the same time enhance your own practice, or like Mona would say, “yummify” it.

– Jeanette Johnsson, ISHTA Teacher, Sweden
