At first notice of pregnancy many of us think, “Holy shakti, I’m having a baby”! But as the stomach settles (or not) and the reality sinks in and a new path unfolds. With everything to consider, a yoga practice might slide down the to-do list a bit at a time where it can make the entire experience even more wonderful.
Spend a summer evening with Gina and see how to create a home practice specifically for pregnancy. A series of short sequences will be shared to use for the specific issue of the day, or to link together for a full hour-plus invigorating, rejuvenating and restoring practice. Practicing yoga in the house can include the use and comfort of your own home “props” to help the ever-changing body. Doorway down dog? Sofa back squat? Bedtime Baddhakonasana? Why not?
In this evening, women will learn how to help facilitate an ideal birthing position for their baby, deepening breath techniques for when there seems to be no room for any, ways to reduce anxiety and how to rest when sleep is interrupted all night long.
There will be time for discussion, ideas shared and an evening practice. Come alone or with your significant other so you can show them all what you’re capable of!
