Inversions are a powerful and celebrated part of the yoga tradition. When practiced correctly, they can help reverse the effects of gravity, strengthen the upper body, move us into our fears, and enable us to see things in a new perspective. When practiced incorrectly, they can potentially lead to injury and mental blockages.
In this workshop, we will break down the component parts of two common inversions: headstand and handstand. Together, we will explore the actions needed in the body in order to come into these poses with grace, mindfulness, and efficiency. We’ll also look at various options to modify based on your unique anatomy, limitations, and contraindications. This workshop is a great opportunity to investigate the profound effects of moving upside down in a safe and non-intimidating environment. Come with your questions, fears, and insecurities around inversions and leave feeling transformed on a mental, physical, and energetic level. This workshop is open to anyone who has been practicing yoga for at least 6 months who is interested in taking their inversion practice to the next level in the comfort of their own home.
