This workshop is designed to help ground and center and release anxiety and restlessness.
In the Ayurvedic system we are made up five elements: earth, water, fire, air and space. We each have our unique mix of these elements which make up our physical and mental constitution. Disease is caused when there is an imbalance in the mix of these elements from our unique imprint of these elements at birth. In the fall the air and space element tend to increase – we call this a vata condition. When our vata is in excess we have trouble focusing and being still and can feel anxious, restless and fearful.
The workshop will begin with gentle asana and pranayama to help release excess vata from your body and mind. You will then move into a series of deeply healing and relaxing restorative poses. In-studio, Mona will use grounding essential oils and gentle hands on adjustments to calm the nervous system and induce a deep state of relaxation. The practice will end with a long yoga nidra designed to help you surrender into stillness and bring clarity into your fall. This will be followed by a Community Event featuring light snacks and beverages with Mona and community from 8:30 – 9:15 pm. Welcome!
