Restorative / Yoga Nidra Workshop to Balance Muladhara Chakra
with Mona Anand
Tues, February 12 | 6:30 – 9 pm
A workshop designed to help us ground and center and bring what lies in our roots to consciousness.
We have seven energetic centers or chakras that run along our spine that govern different segments of the body and different behavior. The Muladhara Chakra governs our survival and the way we manage our daily lives – our family, occupation, money, etc. When balanced we are grounded, relaxed and able to manage the demands of daily life. When imbalanced this chakra can be either tamasic, (underactive) which manifests as being fearful, anxious, lacking in focus and disconnected from the body or rajasic (overactive) lethargic, depressed and unable to bring about change. The practice will begin with gentle grounding asana, followed by delicious restorative poses with gentle hands-on adjustments, and will end with a thirty to forty-minute long yoga nidra. The asana, pranayama, restorative poses, visualizations and Yoga Nidra are all designed to ground, center and relax us and bring what lies in our roots to consciousness. The Yoga Nidra practice will help release memories stored in our subconscious and unconscious and in our DNA that is carried through the generations.
