The Yamas and Niyamas as a Heart Centered Practice (Online)
Life is an ongoing practice!
Where the mind goes, the heart goes. And where the heart goes, our lives go. Applying the yamas and niyamas as a heart-centered practice that embraces the nature of duality gives us a potent way to chart an intentional course through life’s ups and downs.
The eight limbs of yoga are the backbone of yoga practice. Each limb has its own sphere of influence, and yet they work together synergistically in the transformation of consciousness. Just as asana helps us transform our physical bodies, the yamas and niyamas help us make shifts in on our mental and emotional energies.
In this two-part workshop, Wendy will guide participants in an experiential process of engaging with the yamas and niyamas as a heart-centered, life-affirming practice. Using aspects of dharana and dhyana meditation, journaling, and satsang discussion participants will learn to work with, rather than against the mind’s natural tendency to make associations and engage the emotions in the service of conscious transformation.
All sessions are online and are designed to be taken together. Recordings will be available for replay, but live participation is encouraged.
