How to Meditate — A Starter Guide with Peter Ferko

Meditation is a key part of yoga, but it can be intimidating if you’ve never done it, or if your only choice is to jump into a long or elaborate practice. Let yoga and meditation teacher Peter Ferko help you get started with this powerful tool that is used for self improvement, well-being, and self realization.

This class is for you if you have thought:

In this short workshop,
You’ll learn why meditation is helpful in real life, including some scientific findings
You’ll learn several starter meditations that anyone can do
You’ll do two short meditations, so you can ask any questions that come up
You’ll learn how to incorporate meditation into your day
You’ll learn how to join ISHTA meditation classes using what you’ve learned.

This workshop is appropriate for all levels of students, and is open to anyone from absolute beginners to people who’ve been trying to meditate for years.

Peter Ferko is a yogiraj, or master of ISHTA Yoga. He co-authored the book The Genius of Yoga and authored Yoga for Artists. He has taught meditation to young gamers at international competitions, as well as professionals in work environments and practitioners in yoga classes. He teaches weekly meditations at ISHTA and online.
