Dive Deep into the Deities –A Yoga Class Series with Rachel Zinman

The deities, or devatas, are the shining ones—symbols of energies and qualities already inherent in every human being. Love, beauty, courage, wisdom, abundance—these qualities are embodied in the deity and become a focus of devotion. When we see their form externally, we are reminded that we are that. The love and beauty we perceive is the love and beauty we already are.

Each deity carries a story, a mantra, a mudra, and a yantra. These distinct yet interwoven expressions focus the mind, awaken the heart, and remind us we are an inseparable part of the universe

To know the deity is to be the deity.

In this class series, Rachel will introduce seven distinct deities, each representing a different aspect of our being. Together we will begin with a short talk, followed by an asana practice to prepare the body and mind, and conclude with mantra, mudra, and meditation to embody the energy of each deity.

Rachel Zinman has been teaching and practicing yoga since the age of 17 and brings over four decades of experience to her classes. She studied and mentored with Alan Finger in New York, serving as a senior teacher and teacher trainer at ISHTA Yoga from 2000–2005.
